Effective 31 July 2026 · covers nullveil.io, play.nullveil.io, mint.nullveil.io
Null Veil: Mnemocide is a browser game. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and we never ask for your
name or email. This page explains what the sites do store and measure, in plain language.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand how many people visit and where players get stuck — counts and
aggregate behaviour, not profiles of you personally.
- nullveil.io (this landing page) uses Google Analytics 4, with the cookie notice you may
have seen. Choosing "Decline" turns analytics storage off for this site.
- play.nullveil.io (the game) uses PostHog to record gameplay events — which scenes are
viewed, how long they hold attention, which achievements unlock. PostHog stores a random identifier in
your browser to tell visits apart; it is not linked to any real-world identity.
Both providers receive standard technical data with each event: IP address (from which rough
geography may be derived), browser and device type. We do not sell this data or use it for
advertising.
Cookies and local storage
- The landing page stores your cookie consent choice, so it doesn't ask twice.
- The game stores your saves — progress, inventory, unlocked content — in your browser's local
storage. Saves live on your device; deleting your browser data deletes them.
- Analytics identifiers, as described above.
The game server
The game fetches story scenes from our server as you play. Your progress travels in a signed token
that describes where you are in the story; it contains no personal information. Our hosting provider
(Vercel) processes requests and keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, request path), as
virtually all web hosting does.
The mint page and your wallet
mint.nullveil.io lets you optionally mint an ending you reached as a Solana collectible. If you use it:
- Connecting Phantom shares your public wallet address with the page. We never see or ask for
your seed phrase or private keys.
- Transactions are submitted through an RPC provider (Helius), which processes your wallet
address and IP to relay them.
- Anything you mint or pay is recorded on the Solana blockchain, which is public and permanent.
Your wallet address and transaction history are visible to anyone; that is how blockchains work, and
we could not delete it even if asked.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no email collection, no marketing lists.
- No selling or renting of data to anyone.
- No advertising networks or cross-site tracking pixels.
Your choices
- Decline analytics on the landing page via the cookie notice.
- Block analytics anywhere with a content blocker — the game works fine with PostHog blocked.
- Clear your browser data to remove saves and identifiers from your device.
